Renan Capaverde.
I spent the last decade building and scaling the core of one of the world's largest digital banks. Now I help founders and funds move faster, and I am spending this next chapter on a harder question: what building well looks like in an AI-first world.
At Nubank I grew over more than ten years, from early software engineer to Director, then Senior Director leading engineering across Investments, and finally General Manager of the Core Banking business unit, owning its strategy, product, engineering and P&L inside a bank serving over 100 million customers.
Today I run CPVRD, my advisory and investing practice, working hands-on with fintechs, banks, funds and AI companies as an advisor, venture partner and angel. I think in systems and go in at the level the problem needs, from the hard technical and org calls to the P&L.
What pulls me most is the part nobody has the playbook for yet: how to implement AI for real value while cutting cost and drama, and what engineering, banking and team-building become once AI changes the work itself. I am back to being an engineer first, building and pressure-testing those answers myself, contrarian when it earns its keep and direct about what I see.
Gaúcho by origin, made in Florianópolis, with a year in Aachen along the way, then São Paulo across the Nubank run, and now Miami. Control and Automation Engineering at UFSC, Executive MBA at Kellogg. Father of two.
